Personalized massage therapy in Carmel, Indiana

I'm Mary Irvine, a licensed massage therapist in Carmel with over a decade of experience. I treat every client as a person, not a time slot — tailoring each session to what your body actually needs, whether you're managing pain and tension, worn down by daily demands, or simply overdue for time that's yours.

You've been carrying enough.

A full toolkit for pain, tension, and stress

From deep therapeutic work to gentle, restorative care, here's the range I offer. Most sessions blend a few of these, depending on what you came in for. Either way, let me help you feel a little more like yourself again.

Therapeutic & Swedish massage

A custom blend of deep tissue and flowing relaxation work: firm and focused where you're holding tension, lighter and slower where you just need to unwind.

Hot stone therapy

Warm basalt stones melt tension and open up circulation, for a heavy, sink-into-the-table kind of relaxation.

Lymphatic wellness massage

A light, rhythmic touch that supports your body's natural drainage system, easing swelling, encouraging detox, and leaving you feeling lighter.

A gentle, wellness-focused treatment, not medical lymphedema therapy. I don't take post-surgical or cancer-related cases; those need a certified lymphedema therapist.

Graston technique

Stainless steel instruments break up scar tissue and stubborn adhesions in muscles, tendons, and ligaments that hands can't always reach.

Cupping

Suction cups draw blood flow into tight, stuck areas, loosening muscle and kickstarting healing. Offered as stationary or sliding cupping.

Prenatal massage

Relief for low back pain, swollen feet, and the stress of carrying new life. Gentle, therapeutic support for every stage of pregnancy.

About your therapist

Meet Mary Irvine

I've spent over 11 years as a massage therapist, most of it rooted in the spa world, where I developed and refined my intuitive touch and relaxation techniques. Along the way I've worked alongside a physical therapist, gaining real manual-therapy skills, and collaborated with personal trainers and athletes, which deepened my understanding of movement, function, and body mechanics.

That mix lets me bring both a calming, restorative approach and a practical, therapeutic focus. What drives me is a genuine fascination with the body and its ability to heal, and a real investment in the people who trust me with their care.

I'm also always learning. Right now I'm educating myself on buccal massage, a technique that works the muscles of the face and jaw (sometimes from inside the mouth) to release deep-held tension, ease TMJ and headaches, and encourage circulation and lymphatic flow, leaving the face feeling relaxed and naturally lifted. I'm really excited to start weaving it into my sessions.

Outside of work, my life is full in the best way. I'm a boy mom and a bonus mom in the making, and my kids are at the heart of everything I do. That's a big part of why I have a real soft spot for fellow moms. I know firsthand the physical toll of carrying, holding, and chasing after little ones, and how easily we put ourselves last. That said, I genuinely love working with every kind of client, whatever brings you to the table. When I'm not on the table, you'll usually find me staying active: going on walks and discovering new parks, or finding new ways to move and challenge myself at the gym. Staying active, on my own and with my kids, keeps me grounded, and it's part of why I care so much about helping you feel good in your body, too.

Above all, I'm grateful for the trust you place in me. I'll always pay close attention and hold a safe, comfortable space for your healing. Your well-being means the world to me. Thank you for letting me be part of it.

Philosophy

The body communicates: my job is to listen

Every appointment is different, because your body needs something different every time you're on the table. Pressure, pace, and technique shift based on what's actually happening. Sometimes that calls for Graston or cupping on a stubborn issue, and sometimes it calls for slowing everything down.

This work supports people managing headaches, back pain, the toll of a desk job or a job on your feet all day, pregnancy, and the general wear of caring for a household. We hold a lot of tension, old and new, in our muscles, and part of this practice is learning to listen to what yours is telling us.

I'll always be honest with you: massage isn't a cure-all, and I can't promise to fix everything in a single visit. Think of it as a tool. I can help your body get the healing started, releasing what's holding on and getting things moving again, but the lasting work happens between sessions, in how you move, rest, and recover. Some issues are years in the making, so real, lasting change can take several visits. And if the habits that caused the tension stick around, it tends to find its way back.

And if you're simply here because a massage feels good and you want an hour to be taken care of, with no agenda and no homework, that's more than okay too. Either way, my goal is the same: that you leave feeling better than you came in.

Frequently asked

We start by talking through what's going on and what you're hoping for. You're professionally draped throughout, and you're always welcome to ask for a change in pressure or technique. This is your time, and it should feel good the whole way through.

Yes! I offer THC-free CBD from Joy Organics as an optional part of your session. A couple of common myths first: it won't get you high, and it isn't the same as marijuana. My CBD is hemp-derived, THC-free, and non-psychoactive, so there's nothing intoxicating about it. During a session I work it into the areas we're focusing on, where many clients find it helps ease muscle tension, soreness, and inflammation while deepening that sense of relaxation. It's completely optional, so just let me know if you'd like it or would rather skip it. If you take medications or have a medical condition, it's always smart to check with your doctor first.

It depends on your goals. We'll build a plan together, but most clients return every three to four weeks for regular maintenance.

It varies by person and by what's being worked on. Some soreness or light bruising is possible, and pressure is adjusted throughout with open communication. If you're unsure, check with your doctor first.

I focus on wellness massage rather than clinical treatment. For a past injury, a general medical condition, or pregnancy, please bring the details and a doctor's clearance when it's relevant, so I can work safely. I'm not able to take post-surgical recovery, cancer-related care, or other complex medical cases, though; those are best handled by a specialist. If you're ever unsure whether your situation is a good fit, just ask before booking and I'll be honest with you.

All of it. Swedish and deep tissue are never priced separately. Both are therapeutic, and you get whichever (or whatever mix) actually helps.

Life happens, and I truly get that. I just ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule when you can.
